Rege Lark is a Singer/Songwriter/Composer/Performer and International Recording Artist that began performing in his homeland as a youth on the beautiful Island of Dominica. While honing his musical skills, he started performing all over the Caribbean and entered Calypso Contests of which he won many. While gigging in Trinidad in the 50's and early 60's Rege recorded several "Home Studio" Calypso Albums, Singles, and Demo's. Growing his spiritual convictions throughout his youth by attending the festivals and shows featuring great performers like Joe Higgs and the Skatalites, Rege started to form his own style and method of composing and entertaining that led him to play Reggae and successfully record several Reggae tapes and Two Albums in his native country. Because one of his tunes being played on the radio had become very popular with the common people his musical career almost came to an abrupt end!
***ACCOLADES***
April 2010...I attended the ASCAP EXPO in Los Angeles, Ca., Exchanged ideas with fellow musicians. Sat in on several workshops. Quincy Jones and Justin Timberlake were guest speakers. I found their advice invaluable.
Same year, I won First Prize in Sonicbids, Show Me The Music Contest, Reggae Category, with my sweet original, "Call Me", from my Pay Attention Indie Album. So exciting.
September of 2011.... I was asked to Showcase at the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival. WHAT AN HONOR. Monty, the Promoter, went out of his way to see that we were accommodated.
The day before we left Florida to attend, I was notified I had won for the Second Year in a row First Place in Sonicbids, Show Me The Music Contest, Reggae Category, with another one of my Original Tunes, "Have Caution" from my It's Only Love Album. Thank You, Sonicbids.
